About?
Jamz is an innovative combination of an animation jam and a video game hackathon. Where the jam and hackathon run in parallel with their own prizes we also offer additional incentives for innovation in working across video games and animation.

Jamz has been created to offer small video game and animation studios to develop their craft in a short period of time assisted by professional coordinators
What’s in the Jamz?
Day 1: Opening Evening Party: Meet the Jamerz, Theme Reveal, 2hr Brainstorm session
Day 2-3: Jam + Hackathon
Day 4: Pitch Preparation Morning / Pitch 3-4pm

Criteria
Animation
6 SMME’s will be selected with a maximum of 5 participants each.
Tax-compliant SMMEs in Animation comprising of individuals that meet the following minimum requirements:
- South African Citizens
- Age: 18 – 35
- Must demonstrate competence in any areas of animation, including motion graphics, 2D, 3D, stop motion or cutout animation.
- Must have a minimum of two years professional experience as an animator/Studio.
- A portfolio of work is required at both individual and company level.
Video Games
6 SMME’s will be selected with maximum of 5 participants each.
Tax-compliant SMMEs in Video Game development comprising of individuals that meet the following minimum requirements:
- South African Citizens
- Johannesburg based, or able to stay in Johannesburg for the duration of the stay.
- Age: 18 – 35
- Passion for video games, game development and content creation
- Demonstrated competence in any of the areas in Video Game Development. A portfolio of work will be requested at both individual and Company level.
