Fak’ugesi African Digital Innovation Festival and Masidlale in Soweto South Africa aim to expose people within Southern Africa to locally and regionally made games. The Arcade Box project was initially prototyped and developed with support from German Cooperation implemented by GIZ in 2019.

Masidlale Fak’ugesi aims to showcase locally made games and their creators to a diversity of players across the region, young and old. Through the Arcade Box and related events, we invite everyone to play and we invite you to propose and develop new games to show on the Masidlale Fak’ugesi Arcade Box across Africa!

Designed as a DIY format, the arcade box can travel easily and generate discussion on what locally or regional made games can and should be.
